I spent some time at Macworld Expo talking with Aaron Patzer, VP at Intuit, about the upcoming Quicken Essentials, the company’s replacement for Quicken 2007. This new version is a total rewrite from the ground up, using Cocoa and bringing with it a totally revamped user interface. Gone is the interface I loved to hate; Quicken Essentials bears more resemblance to Keynote or Numbers than it does to Quicken 2007.
Among a multitude of new features are greatly improved reporting, budgeting with easy-to-see historical activity levels, and support for thousands of additional financial institutions.
