The ms Oosterdam is on its way back to San Diego after a week of sight-seeing and Mac talk aboard MacMania IV. But we’ve still got time for one final aquatic edition of the Macworld Podcast.
I’m joined in this episode by Neil Bauman, organizer of these MacMania outings and founder of Geek Cruises. Neil talks about what inspired him to create Geek Cruises and how a Mac-themed cruise became part of the roster. Star Trek figures prominently in both stories.
My other guest is Leo Laporte—broadcaster, podcaster, tech geek, and a speaker at MacMania IV. Leo, who produces several podcasts on variety of tech subjects, talks about podcasting, the late-lamented Call for Help program on the now-defunct TechTV, and his love of the Mac. My interview with Leo marks another couple of firsts for the Macworld Podcast—the first time we’ve had a studio audience and the first (and likely only) time, I’ve recorded one of these interviews in a suit and a tie.
