We don’t get to see many great deals for the iMac as we’d like to see, and that’s why I’m happy to report that today B&H is selling the 2017 iMac for anywhere from $100 to $600 off . Apple didn’t release any new iMacs in 2018, so these are the previous-generation models to the iMacs that were released earlier this year.
At the least expensive, today’s sale allows you to pick up a 21.5-inch iMac with a 4K Retina display for just $949, down $350 from the normal retail price of $1,1999. Here are a few additional specs:
- 3.0 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core
- 8GB of DDR4 RAM
- 1TB Hard Drive
- 21.5-inch 4096×2304 IPS Retina 4K Display
- AMD Radeon Pro 555 Graphics Card (2GB)
If you really want a good deal, though, we suggest going for the 27-inch iMac with a Retina 5K display that’s selling for $1,699, down a full $600 from the normal retail price of $1,699. It’s quite popular, as it still has a rating of five stars even after 226 user reviews. Here are a few additional specs for this model:
- 3.8 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad-Core
- 8GB of DDR4 RAM
- 2TB Fusion Drive
- 27-inch 5120×2880 IPS Retina 5K Display
- AMD Radeon Pro 580 Graphics Card (8GB)
If you want more information, be sure to check out our review from June of 2017. Here’s how we summed it up at the time:
“It would’ve been nice to see a bigger speed increase over its predecessor, but the $1,499 21.5-inch iMac 3.4GHz Core i5 is still a great computer, and its boost over older iMacs is much more impressive. Also, the Kaby Lake iMacs could benefit from macOS High Sierra, especially when it comes to handling HEVC video. In all, the 2017 iMac continues the excellence that we’ve come to associate with the iMac.”
