We’ve spoken about how it’ll be easier to take the iPad seriously as a laptop alternative
once iPadOS 13 drops this fall, but I can understand any hesitation in giving it a shot, considering that the iPad Pro models are still priced a lot like MacBooks. Thankfully, today Amazon is selling some models of the most recent iPad Pros for some of the lowest prices we’ve seen to date. They’re still quite pricey, mind you, but at least the barrier to entry isn’t so high.
In the case of the 11-inch model, all the discounts exclusively apply to the Wi-Fi + cellular version. Every model is on sale, but the
1TB model is selling for $1,499, down $250 from the normal price of $1,699 and that’s the lowest price we’ve tracked by roughly $50.
As for the 12.9-inch model, you’ll find units with both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular on sale. Here are the standout deals, which are matches of lowest prices we’ve seen to date.
12.9-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi and Cellular
64GB for $949, down from $1,149
512GB for $1,299, down from $1,499
12.9-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi
512GB for $1,149, down from $1,349

my review of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro from last year, in which I said it was “a fantastic tablet, if not a fantastic laptop.” iPadOS alleviates a lot of those concerns, as it introduces better multitasking, better file management, and even a form of mouse compatibility. Still, it’s not a MacBook, so just make sure you’re aware of what you’re getting into.
