Head over to Amazon, and you’ll find this year’s 256GB 10.5-inch iPad Air with both Wi-Fi and cellular selling for the lowest price we’ve ever seen it listed for. Today you can get one for just $619, down $160 from the normal retail price of $779.
If you don’t mind getting one in gold and working with a little less storage space, Amazon is also selling the 64GB model with cellular for $529.99, down from $629. While the discount isn’t quite as steep as that for the 256GB model, this is still the best price we’ve seen.
Act quickly, though: As of the time of writing, Amazon says there are only 10 to 12 units left in stock for each of these models, but on the bright side, more are supposedly on the way. You’ll almost certainly have to wait longer for it to ship, though.
The new iPad Air is a fantastic little tablet, and in our review we called it the “sweet spot for most users.” Standout features include an impressive A12 Bionic chip, an 8MP back camera, and a 7MP front-facing camera. (I’m especially impressed by the latter, as Apple’s smaller tablets tend to have pitiful FaceTime cameras.)
Here’s how we wrapped up our review in April: “Absolutely nothing about this iPad Air is new. It’s an oddball collection of regular-iPad and Pro-iPad features that may not excite technophiles looking for the latest advancements, but delivers the right iPad at the right price for most users.”
