We’re still big fans of the sixth-generation 9.7-inch iPad from 2018, and today at Walmart you can get the 128GB space gray model with Wi-Fi and cellular for $349 , down from the $560 it normally sells for. Good deals before this tended to range from $429 to $450 at sites like Amazon, so this is the best price we’ve seen to date by a significant margin.
While you’re at it, you may want to get a first-generation Apple Pencil , which is on sale for $89.99, down from the normal price of $99.99.
Here are a few more specs:
- A10 Fusion chip with 64-bit architecture
- 1.2MP FaceTime HD camera
- 8MP rear camera
- Touch ID
This is a particularly good tablet if you want a budget iPad but don’t want to sacrifice features like extra storage and cellular connectivity. For comparison, the brand-new 10.2-inch iPad may start at $329, but at that price you’ll only have Wi-Fi and 32GB of storage. If you’re not looking for beast-mode power (such as for something like Adobe Photoshop), this should serve you well.
For more information, be sure to check out my review of this model. I said at the time that it’s “’pro’ enough for many of us,” and that remains true even in the wake of more recent releases.
