Susie bought a new iPhone 6s in an Apple Store, but couldn't get the subsidized price she wanted since she wasn't buying from AT&T, who would only ship it to her house, where she wasn't going to be. Glenn bought his iPhone 6s at an Apple Store as well, after stalking the reservations system for days since you can only get the new iPhone Upgrade Plan if you buy in person, not online (yet, anyway).

What the heck is going on?!

To help us sort through this madness—not to mention all the deals carriers are dangling in an effort to get you to switch—we talk to Dan Frakes, senior editor at The Wirecutter, and of course still-beloved former Macworld staffer. Dan helped pen a really useful, amazingly comprehensive article about how to buy an iPhone, because these days it just isn’t as easy as it used to be.

Then, get the popcorn ready because it’s Macworld at the Movies. Caitlin McGarry and Oscar Raymundo each saw early screenings of Steve Jobs, the new dramatization of the Apple cofounder’s life, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle. They join Susie for a conversation about the movie and the reaction it’s getting from Apple fans.
