The on-demand delivery app relies on couriers to deliver from restaurants and stores throughout cities in 24 states. In addition to delivering items from its general store, Postmates (iTunes) has also partnered with Walgreens, Starbucks, and the Apple Store. So you can use it to get sundries, lattes, and Lighting cables—you know, your everyday necessities.
Braving the last-minute, pre-holiday shopping frenzy at Safeway or Whole Foods may not be worth it for pumpkin pie. With Instacart (iTunes) you can have your pie and eat it too. The app is getting its shoppers ready for Thanksgiving, promising to deliver even an uncooked turkey in under an hour. Instacart will deliver in almost 20 cities until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
Amazon Prime Now
Amazon Prime members can get a bunch of basic necessities delivered for free in under two hours by using the Amazon Prime Now app (iTunes). If you need something in under one hour, the delivery fee is $8. Currently Amazon Prime Now is available in over 20 metro areas.
Can’t find your best shirt, the one you want to wear for Thanksgiving to show your uncle you’ve finally made something of youself? Chances are it’s in the dirty laundry hamper. Washio (iTunes) will get that shirt clean and ready for you in 24 hours. The on-demand laundry service also does dry-cleaning. The service is currently available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and Washington DC.
Want to enjoy a well-prepared Thanksgiving dinner but have never opened up a cookbook in your life? Don’t sweat it. Munchery (iTunes) has chef-cooked meals available for delivery in under an hour. The meals arrive chilled so they stay fresh while being delivered. All you have to do is pop them in the oven and ta-da! You’ve got yourself an Instagram-worthy meal.
In California, where medical marijuana is legal, a new app delivers pot-infused sweets, like sea salt chocolate bon bons, in about 20 minutes. For Thanksgiving, Eaze is cutting its prices by 77 percent, according to The Wall Street Journal. Medical marijuana patients can sign up on the Eaze website to download the iOS app.
