New accessories of the week
This week’s roundup includes yet another pair of wireless earbuds—but with a cheeky new feature. Read on!
The Dash ($299 MSRP, $279.95 on Amazon) is a set of waterproof wireless earbuds with a couple of unique features. First, they measure and provide feedback on your heart rate, steps, and activity duration. Second, they feature gesture control—including, The Verge reports, the ability to tap your cheek to activate Siri on your iPhone.
The Eve Motion ($49.95 MSRP, same price on Amazon) is a wireless motion sensor that works with iOS HomeKit technology. It lets you create rules that help you keep your home in precise comfort: You can program the system to do things like activate a fan when you enter a room—but only if the climate sensor senses the room is too warm for your comfort. It’s also energy-efficient, running on a pair of AA batteries.
No need to choose between a keyboard case or an external battery: The ClamCase + Power ($160 MSRP, same price on Amazon) includes a 6,000-mAh battery that can power up your iPhone a couple of times over while you’re working on your 9.7-inch iPad Pro. It comes in any color you want, so long as it’s black.
The WySky ($99 pledge) is an “Apple-integrated music lamp.” The device lets you charge your phone while playing music over high-quality speakers; you can control the light and color combinations on the lamp to create the perfect mood.
Nomad’s new line of Ultra Rugged Cables are wrapped in a “ballistic weave pattern” designed for military-grade use, and are lab-tested to withstand being bent and flexed more than 10,000 times. The line includes a simple Lightning cable ($29.95 MSRP), a battery cable ($39.95 MSRP; pictured) with 2,350 mAh in reserve, and a universal cable ($34.95 MSRP) that includes Lightning, USB-C, and micro-USB connections.
The Fermata ($80 MSRP, same price on Amazon) is “an elegant aluminum stand that not only holds and showcases your premium headphones but is also a full charging station that keeps you powered up.” It includes a USB port at the base, making it easy to keep your iOS device powered up through the day, as well.
