New iOS cases of the week
This week’s roundup of new iPhone and iPad cases brings us new picks just as we’re gearing up for the holiday shopping season. Read on!
The Air Protect SheerForce (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus; $25 to $30 MSRP, $21.75 on Amazon) is a sheer, lightweight hard-shell case that’s a good option if you want a clear case that doesn’t add a lot of bulk.
The case features a textured bumper for better grip, embedded air pockets designed to minimize shocks, and a scratch-proof coating that protects against daily wear and tear. It is available in rose gold, gold, black, space gray, or silver.
The Vault (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus; $22 MSRP, $10 on Amazon) is a rugged carbon-fiber case with a comfortable grip. The case provides a snug fit, and has raised edges around the iPhone’s display for extra screen protection. It also comes with matching press-through button overlays for your volume buttons, and cut-outs for the other ports and buttons.
The RealCurve (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus; $30 to $35 MSRP, same price on Amazon) is a tempered-glass screen protector that blends in with your iPhone’s design, keeping your display scratch-, crack-, and smudge-free. It also sports a thick border that lines up with your iPhone’s bezel, available in the color of your choice.
The Survivor Journey (iPhone 7; $30 MSRP, same price on Amazon) is a solid compromise between style and functionality, featuring a lightweight build that doesn’t skimp on sturdiness. Tested to withstand drops and falls, this case was designed with two layers to absorb shock, but it still maintains a slim profile. The Survivor Journey is available in a number of color combinations.
Available in black, blue, pink, or white, the case meets military drop test standards, helps prevents screen scratches and dents with its reinforced bezel, and includes metal press-through button overlays that nicely integrate with its slim design.
Made with a faux leather and a soft lining, the case sports a hidden cash compartment, supports different viewing angles when used as a stand, and includes a magnetic clasp that keeps its cover securely closed. Pick between 10 bright, solid colors.
Available in black or white, this case sports a frost finish that hides scratches and smudges, is pretty slim, and features cut-outs for the iPhone’s buttons and ports.
The case also has a specialized cut-out for the iPhone’s back-facing camera, while a bumper keeps its screen and sides safe from accidental drops. It comes in rose pink, space gray, clear, or gold.
The Carbon Fit (iPhone 7 and 7 Plus; $25 MSRP, on sale for $12.49) is a rugged case at a great price, featuring a retractable kickstand for hands-free use.
Made of TPU and carbon fiber, the case sports a camera cut-out with raised edges to keep your lens free of scratches, and heavy-duty button covers to keep out dust and dirt.
The Custom Case (9.7-inch iPad Pro; starts at $79.95 MSRP) gives the word “customizable” a whole new meaning by letting you customize every piece of this case, all the way down to the elastic band that keeps its cover securely closed. You get your choice of color or pattern for its exterior finish, interior lining, and spine wrap.
The case sports a thick birch frame, is compatible with the iPad Pro’s magnetic wake/sleep feature, and comes with an optional hidden compartment for an Apple Pencil. For more customization, you can add a camera opening in the back, a magnetic closure, or a multi-angle stand.
The Linen (9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini; $33.94 MSRP) is a handsome iPad sleeve, available in several solid tones.
The sleeve’s soft linen material delivers a comfortable carrying experience, and its interior foam padding adds an additional layer of protection that’s perfect for everyday use.
