I usually hate Mondays, but I’m loving this one because it’s a good day to get a deal on almost any modern iPad or iPad Pro you could want. I’m especially impressed with the $100 to $149 that Amazon and Best Buy are both discounting from the most recent 12.9-inch (Amazon/Best Buy) and 11-inch iPad Pros (Amazon/Best Buy). These tablets sometimes cost more than MacBooks, and discounts like these keep them from feeling quite so out of reach.

If you don’t need all the power of the iPad Pro—and frankly, there’s a good chance you don’t—Amazon and Best Buy are both offering the latest 9.7-inch iPad for $79 off. That’s enough to drop the price of the 32GB model down to $249.99 (Amazon/Best Buy) and the 128GB model down to $329.99 (Amazon/Best Buy). Unfortunately, the best prices for the 128GB model only apply to the silver unit, but the other colors have less impressive discounts.

Since this sale essentially lets you buy the 128GB model for the retail price of the 32GB model, I’d skip the unit with less storage. Devices fill up quickly these days—be it from games, movies, or even attachments from iMessages—so it’s always good to have a machine that’s prepared to handle these loads.

For more information, be sure to read our reviews of both the most recent 12.9-inch iPad Pro (which essentially doubles as a review of the 11-inch model) and the latest 9.7-inch iPad. I especially admire the 9.7-inch model because it’s so small and light that I sometimes forget I have it in my bag. I also like that its beefy A10 chip can handle almost any app I throw it at.

It also supports the first-generation Apple Pencil, but unfortunately you’ll have to buy that $99 peripheral separately at both Amazon and Best Buy. Amazon offers a small discount. If you’re an artist or you enjoy taking hand-written notes, it’s largely worth it. (And keep in mind that if you want the Apple Pencil for new iPad Pros, you'll want the second-generation Pencil.)
