If you’re going to get an iPad Pro and use it for “pro” things, then you might as well go big. And right now Amazon is making it easier to take that plunge by offering the 2018 1TB 11-inch iPad Pro with Wi-Fi for a mere $1,149, way down from the $1,549 it sold for at launch. Apple recently dropped the retail price down the $1,349, but Amazon’s offer still marks a considerable improvement over that.
At this price, I’d strongly considering checking out this device if you work with tons of photos and videos, as you’ll probably want all that extra space when the full iPad version of Photoshop (hopefully) drops sometime later this year. This model will certainly be able to handle most things you throw at it, as it’s packed with a beastly A12X Bionic processor and 6GB of RAM.
It’s also a particularly good time to pick up an iPad or any sort. When I wrote my review of the 2018 iPad Pro last November, I was still skeptical that such a costly tablet could truly replace a laptop for “professional users.” But things have changed a bit. When iPadOS 13 drops on September 30, it will bring improved multitasking, support for thumb drives (beyond photos), “desktop-class browsing,” and more. If you toggle a buried setting, you can even use a mouse.
We don’t know when the next iPad Pro launch will be, but it’s likely this model will continue to be a powerhouse for many years to come. Additional features include support for the second-generation Apple Pencil (which you’ll have to buy separately), USB-C charging, Face ID, and an almost edge-to-edge display.
