Our Verdict
The Kujali iPad mini case is an all-around winner. It’s durable, sleek, functional, affordable and each purchase helps a human in need. We’re excited to see what other tech accessories the Kujali brand will offer in the future.
The Kujali iPad mini case is the first product available from this new charity-oriented technology company. The case has an attractive and durable leather exterior and a red suede interior. It has two ribbings on the easel for tilt adjustment purposes, a hand strap on the inner right-hand side of the cover (good for left-handed holding), a peephole for the camera, and a snug elastic strap to hold it all together. Embedded magnets give the device an automatic sleep/wake function when you open up the flap.
In addition to the protective flap, the iPad mini gets mounted into its own interior “shock-absorbing silicone skin” for extra protection. The best way to get the iPad mini in the case is to remove the flexible silicone skin, place it around the device, and then put it all back into the black hard plastic case. This interior place gives your iPad mini more protection than most cases do. In other peace-of-mind news, the Kujali case also comes with a lifetime warranty.

The thin skin covers the sleep and volume buttons, but this does not hinder the ability to press them easily. Partially attached flaps cover both the earphone and charging portals to prevent damage from dust.
This case is not only sleek and functional; it is also a morally conscionable purchase. Acting as basically the TOMS of iPad cases, Kujali says that for every protective cover purchased, they will give a mosquito net to provide protective cover to a child in Africa. The word “kujali” is a Swahili verb meaning “to care for”, and founder Marc Day was inspired to give his electronic accessory business a philanthropic spin after a trip to Africa.
The only real downside to this product is a minor one: there are no colour options. A black outside and a red inside is what you’re stuck with for now. But Kujali is only a few months old and this iPad mini case is the company’s first and only product so far; we assume as the brand expands more options will become available.
