iPad Air Smart Cover
If you’re not too worried about scratching the back of your iPad Air, or if you’ve already got a case that covers the back but not the front, then Apple’s iPad Air 2 Smart Cover might be ideal.
You can no longer buy it directly from Apple but we have spotted it available at
Amazon for around £64, and as low as
$49.99 if you’re visiting from the US. The Smart Cover automatically wakes up your iPad when you lift the front flap, which is where the ‘Smart’ part comes in.
If you’ve got an original iPad Air, we have a
guide to the best cases for that too.
The Logi BLOK boasts great protection, but doesn’t sacrifice design.
The case itself is comprised of a frame which protects your iPad along with a detachable keyboard, an any-angle stand and a screen cover. This makes it incredibly versatile – your iPad can be a laptop when you need it to be, and a tablet when convenient.
Logitech opted to make the corners of the case square to make it more shock-absorbent, and the result is a case that should protect your iPad from a 6-foot drop onto concrete.
Though you can’t find the Blok directly from Logitech, you can find different options on
Amazon (for example, you can find versions without the keyboard and in other colours as well).
Logitech Hinge Case
The second case from Logitech boasts an excellent quality hinge to allow you to use your iPad Air 2 in all sorts of different situations. We are quite fond of the red version (
US$7.80 on Amazon), though you can also pick it up in
black (£12.50/US$6.41 on Amazon).
It allows you to position your slate at pretty much any landscape angle. The material holds fast, letting you read or watch videos. If you have a Bluetooth keyboard, this could join forces with it and your iPad to form a formidable laptop-esque team. Or something.
Belkin Qode Ultimate Keyboard Case
Do you spend lots of time using your iPad to type? The Belkin Qode Ultimate Keyboard Case for iPad Air 2 could be a beneficial investment. It comes with a QWERTY keyboard that includes dedicated iPad-specific shortcut keys to help make typing a breeze.

US$99.99) or black (

There’s also version that swivels 360 degrees which you can find on Amazon for
There are a few different colour options available, and Snugg even offers a 12-month guarantee.
The Maroo Woodland case for the iPad Air 2 utilises a clean, minimalistic design with a blend of synthetic leather and dark woolen felt. Maroo’s patented SG Bumper Technology will protect your iPad Air 2 from damage and still allow you to change it out within seconds, unlike other protective cases that you have to wrestle to take off.
It also offers two different viewing angles – a low angle prop for a comfortable typing experience as well as an upright stand for watching movies and video clips. Style and substance!
The Brydge Air is one of our favourite keyboard cases available for the iPad Air 2, and effectively turns your iPad Air 2 into a MacBook.
The keyboard case is crafted from the same material as your iPad to make the case look like an extension of the iPad itself, instead of two different products. It’s similar in design to the keyboard of the MacBook, and also features backlit keys for working in dark environments.
The hinges provide a 180 degrees viewing experience, allowing you to find the perfect angle. It is also compatible with the 9.7in iPad Pro.
