Our favourite mode is Diamond Mine, in which you’ll need to race against the clock to find buried treasure.

Another match-three game to try is The Treasures of Montezuma, which currently has three instalments. The latest tests your speed – try to score as many points as possible within one minute.

Made by the developers behind Bubble Mania, the Jewel Mania game has more than 600 puzzles, in which players need to match three or more jewels to create combos and win levels.
Two Dots

Two Dots is a beautifully designed app that uses simple, colourful dots and subtle animations. Connect as many dots of the same colour as you can in one minute or a set number of moves to move on to the next level.
There are power-ups available, too, as well as special dots and themes that make this game a joy to play.
Hexbee

You’ll need to match five in Hexbee, a line puzzle game with a flowers and honeycomb theme. This one’s addictive, though not level-based. Simply beat your high score and make your way to the top of the leader boards.
There are three difficulties to choose from, so it’ll always be a challenge.

By God, 10000000 is addictive. It’s a blend of match-three games and dungeon-running roleplaying games like Diablo or ORC: Vengeance.
As your little pixel dude automatically wanders through a retro dungeon, he’ll encounter assorted obstacles, and have to arrange trios of matching blocks in the bottom half of the screen to defeat them.
We also love the sequel, You Must Build A Boat, which is in our top ten favourite iPhone games of all time.
Zookeeper Battle

Catch animals by matching three of the same species to build up your zoo and battle against other zookeepers in this Zookeeper Battle game.
Jelly Splash
