The Toronto Sun has chimed in with the most extensive report yet on the surviving Beatle’s plans to sell their music through iTunes.
Previously reported were plans to make Beatles tracks available perhaps as soon as Valentine’s Day. The new report says “perhaps as soon as June”, when the iPhone ships in the US.
Sources told the paper that a minimum 11 albums may be released, and that they may be released chronologically (starting with Please, Please Me between March and June.
Equally possible is that the entire catalogue will be made available in June, the report adds.
Apple Inc and Apple Corps will reportedly offer the music exclusively through iTunes for three months.
Apple plans a special SuperBowl announcement on 4 February, the report adds, but this may not be linked to the Fab Four music release plans.
