Following Elgato’s statement that it has terminated its relationship with Miglia, Miglia has confirmed that it has not renewed its licence agreement with Elgato and will therefore no longer sell its Mac TV tuner products with Elgato’s EyeTV software.
Miglia CEO Simon Ellson confirmed that his company, which used to ship its own software with both its Mac and PC TV solutions, will be shipping new versions of its Mac products with its own software from March 19.
New products that will ship on that date will include the TV Mini Express and the TV Max Plus. Both products will be introduced at a new lower price, and will ship with Miglia’s own software.
In a statement Miglia emphasised: “Miglia has, over recent years developed possibly the broadest line of TV devices available for the Mac platform. These products are not simply rebranded from the Windows space, they are created packaged and designed for the Mac. That development work continues with many new and exciting products due for release in the next year.
“From time to time we have chosen to bundle other manufacturers software with our own hardware where it has been appropriate, this policy will continue.”
