Apple UK has applied discounts of up to £300 on its PowerBook range, as predicted by Macworld on Friday.
The 400MHz model now costs £1,599, down from £1,899. The 500MHz 20GB model costs £2,199, down from £2,499. The 30GB model that is available exclusively from the Apple Store now costs £2,550, down from £2,850. These prices exclude VAT.
As expected, the company has also drawn the free CD-RW voucher-based offer to an early close. This offer was expected to last until September 3, and enabled purchasers to apply for a VST CD-RW drive direct from Apple at no charge.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior director of hardware product marketing, said: “With this aggressive new pricing, we’re offering amazing value on the world’s best notebook computer.”
