You’ll be able to get your hands on a new MacBook Pro from Thursday this week, according to reports.
The 24 February date coincides with Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ 56th birthday and Apple Stores and third-party retailers are reported to be taking delivery of the units – in sealed containers – at the moment, ready to unwrap them on Thursday.
Apple Insider said it had received confirmation of the 24 February launch date and Mac Rumours claimed last week to have had reliable confirmation that this was the case.
The Apple Insider report also said that third-party retailers receiving the packages have been warned not to open them until Thursday under the threat of having their licence to sell Apple products revoked.
The new line of MacBook Pros are expected to use Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors, and there may be some solid-state drive options too, and perhaps even Light Peak technology.
