The first delivery notifications for customers who have pre-ordered the new iPad are being sent out.

9to5Mac has received a delivery notification confirming that the new iPad will be delivered to him via UPS on 16 March.
Two things are interesting about the delivery note – firstly, the device is referred to as “iPad with Wi-Fi 16GB – Black (3rd generation).
Secondly, the tracking information provided by UPS shows that the unit was prepared for delivery in Chengdu, China – the location of a Foxconn plant where a deadly explosion occured in May 2011.

Those of you in the UK who haven’t pre-ordered a new iPad yet, though, don’t stand any chance of having the device delivered on 16 March as all models now show a wait of two to three weeks on the Apple
So, if you want to get your hands on a new iPad next Friday, your only remaining options is to get yourself in a queue on Friday morning – perhaps even earlier.
