Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has advised potential television buyers to wait for Apple’s upcoming HDTV.
“If you’re in the market for a new TV, hold off. Apple has a new product coming out and it’s going to be hot,” said Munster, following Apple CEO’s revelation that the company has “some incredible things coming out.”
At D10 yesterday, Tim Cook said that Apple will “keep pulling the string” when it comes to the Apple TV, and if they do keep pulling the strings, Apple will aim to make a “significant contribution far beyond what others have done in this area.”
CNBC reports that Munster has decoded Cook’s speech, and came to the conclusion that “the message that I think Tim Cook intended to send was don’t buy a TV, we’re working on something.”
According to Munster, Apple “could announce a new Apple TV as soon as December.”
Earlier today, we reported that Apple could be planning to show off a new operating system for the Apple TV at WWDC, which kicks off on 11 June.
