Photographs of what appears to be an iPad mini mold have surfaced from the IFA trade show in Berlin.
The die cast mold of the smaller iPad was captured in a series of photos by German technology blog Giga.de during the show last week, comparing the shape and size of the device with Apple’s iPhone 4S.
If the mold is genuine, the iPad mini could be thinner than the iPhone 4S, with a central, front-facing FaceTime camera, and a smaller dock connector that resembles the one that is rumoured to be introduced with the iPhone 5 on 12 September.
It is expected that the iPad mini will launch at an event in October, though some rumours suggest that it will make an appearance at the 12 September event Apple announced on Tuesday.
