Apple may be set to launch a new Mac mini at the rumoured launch of the iPad mini next week.
Last updated in July 2011, the Mac mini is expected to gain an Ivy Bridge processor.
Other rumoured new features include USB 3.
The current Mac mini models start with a 2.3GHz version with a 500GB hard disk, Intel Graphics, and 2GB RAM, we are confident that the RAM will be increased to 4GB on the low end model.
There is also a 2.5GHz version currently with a 500GB hard disk, 4GB RAM and a AMD graphics card. We expect that this model will be replaced with a larger hard disk and probably integrated Intel graphics.
The 2.0GHZ server version is likely to get a hard disk size boost from 500GB.
It is anticipated that Apple will launch a 7in iPad mini alongside a 13in Retina Display MacBook Pro and a so-called teardrop styled new iMac at an event on Tuesday 23 October, just days before Microsoft launches Windows 8 and the Surface Tablet.
