Apple continues to be one of the most loved companies in the US. It has beaten Google, Samsung, Amazon and more to be named computer, tablet and mobile “Brand of the Year” by Harris Interactive for the second year running.
The market research firm on Thursday
announced that, in a poll of more than 38,000 US consumers, Apple was voted as “Brand of the Year” in three different categories, a title that it’s managed to hold on to since 2012.
Harris Interactive senior vice president Manny Flores has explained why he believes consumers still love Apple. “Americans continue to give Apple brands strong ratings,” he said. “And while their Consumer Connection scores [emotion, fit, trust and performance] are strong within their respective categories, what really stands out is that in all three of the categories Apple brands are measured – Computer, Tablet and Mobile Phone – its Brand Momentum scores [energy, ubiquity, future outlook, leadership and popularity] are in the top 30 of all 1,5000 brands evaluated in the study, showing that consumers see this as a brand of the future.”
In the computer category, Apple trumped HP, Dell and Sony, while the iPad beat Kindle Fire, Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy and HP Slate to the top spot in the tablet category. As for the mobile phone category, the iPhone came in first above HTC, Samsung and LG.
Earlier this year, Apple took the top ranking in J.D Power and Associates’ smartphone customer satisfaction survey for the ninth time in a row, and at the end of 2012, was
named ‘most innovative company’ for the third consecutive year by management consulting firm Booz & Company too.
If that’s not enough, D&AD staged a party in September last year to celebrate its 50th birthday where it gave gongs to Apple for best ever Brand and Design Studio. In a rare move, Apple flew its entire design team, including British-born designer Jony Ive, to collect the awards.
