Your Apple ID is used for multiple different purposes, from accessing the App Store to download your favourite apps to connecting with your contacts through iMessage. No matter what you use your Apple ID for, you might have two separate accounts which you use for different purposes. In this guide we go over how to sign into a different Apple ID on iPad.

How to sign into a different Apple ID on iPad: Grab your account details
Before signing out of your current account on your iPad, you should make sure that you’ve got the right account details for your other Apple ID account. This might seem trivial, but if you’ve got multiple different accounts with various different passwords you could be left thinking: ‘What’s the password for this one?’ – Always better safe than sorry!
How to sign into a different Apple ID on iPad: Change accounts for iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store
To change accounts, go into Settings > iTunes & App Store. At the top of the menu you’ll see your email address, tap on it and you’ll be presented with several options, one of them being to Sign Out of the account.
Tap Sign Out and now go back to Settings > iTunes & App Store. At the top you’ll now see a Sign In option, where you can now enter your new Apple ID and password.

Change your Apple ID on iCloud
Go into Settings > iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of your current account.
When signing out of your iCloud account, it does mean that your data will no longer be accessed, meaning you’ll have to choose between keeping the data on your device or deleting it.
Once you’ve signed out, go into Settings > iCloud again and tap Sign In to input your new Apple ID details.
Change your Apple ID on Messages
Go into Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and tap on your Apple ID account to Sign Out.
Once done, you’ll want to tap on the ‘Use your Apple ID for iMessage’ option and then Sign In to your new account.
Change your Apple ID on FaceTime>
Go into Settings > FaceTime and tap on your Apple ID to Sign Out.
Once fully signed out, tap on ‘Use your Apple ID for FaceTime’ and enter your new details.
Change your Apple ID on Game Center
Go into Tap Settings > Game Center, find your Apple ID and tap Sign Out. Then simply Sign In with your new details.
