There are some new snazzy effects and transitions in iOS 11, such as the way that the Home Page appears to zoom into view when you close an app, or jumps about when you unlock your iPhone.
Unfortunately such changes aren’t for everyone, and if you are like us you may be finding that the new visuals make you feel a bit sick.
It reminds us of when iOS 7 launched and everyone was complaining that some of the visuals made them feel nauseous. It would seem that Apple’s design term are intent on causing us discomfort all over again.
How to stop the Home Page motion in iOS 11
Luckily, if you are feeling a little worse for wear having experienced the new shifts between apps and Home Page, it is possible to turn it off. Here’s how:
- Go to Settings > General
- Scroll down to Reduce Motion
- Turn the slider to green.
This will reduce the motion of the user interface, including the parallax effect of icons.
Turning off this feature will also mean you lose certain features, such as the way that your wallpaper moves in the background if you tilt your iPhone – known as dynamic wallpaper.
