In October, it will be one year since Apple launched the
AirPods Pro. According to US analysts, the wireless headphones have sold like hot cakes.
It would be logical for a new model of AirPods Pro to be released this autumn, but according to the Taiwanese site Digitimes, the launch will be delayed until the end of 2021.
Inventec Appliances is said to have been commissioned to join Luxshare and Goertek in manufacturing the devices, which means a major part of production is based in Vietnam.
But is the prediction accurate? Even though Digitimes has close contacts with Apple’s subcontractors, it hasn’t been infallible over the years. This rumour should probably be taken with a pinch of salt.
