As Apple’s value continues to increase and approaches $2 trillion, Tim Cook’s private fortune has also skyrocketed. It recently surpassed $1bn, according to information from Bloomberg, or approximately £766m.
However, Cook’s exact worth is unknown, and if he has privately donated large sums of money it is possible that he still owns slightly less than a billion. The Apple boss said in 2015 that he plans to donate most of his fortune through a systematic charity plan.
A large part of Cook’s wealth is said to have come from capital dividends from Apple since he joined the company in 1998. Cook currently owns 847,969 shares in Apple, approximately 0.02% of the company.
He is understood to have been paid $134m by Apple in 2019.
