Last night, while we were waiting for Big Sur to be finished, Apple released a major point update for its predecessor, macOS Catalina: version 10.15.7.
After installing the update, your Mac should automatically connect to wireless networks again without any problems, and the synchronisation of files via iCloud Drive should be fixed.
The update is particularly important for owners of the 27in iMac with the Radeon Pro 5700 XT graphics card, since it (hopefully) solves that machine’s screen problems.
The Mac App Store release notes list the following changes in 10.15.7:
- Resolves an issue where macOS would not automatically connect to Wi-Fi networks
- Fixes an issue that could prevent files syncing through iCloud Drive
- Addresses a graphic issue that may occur on iMac (Retina 5K, 27in, 2020) with Radeon Pro 5700 XT
Plus, of course, we get the usual range of smaller security fixes. It would be wise to download the update from the Mac App Store as soon as possible.
