According to information obtained by Ross Young, founder/lead analyst of DisplaySearch and DSCC, there won’t be another new
iPhone SE until 2022.
Young’s data also indicates that when that model launches it will offer a 6.1in LCD screen, as well as Touch ID and 5G support.
Young also has some information about the
iPhone 13. 2021’s iPhone 13 models will come in the same size as the iPhone 12: two standard models of 5.4in and 6.1in respectively and two pro models of 6.1in and 6.7in. However, the big difference will be that the new screens will have a refresh rate of 120 hertz, which will result in an image that is more comfortable to look at.
Apple is said to have planned to use the technology for the
iPhone 12, but Young suggests that battery life would have suffered.
Additionally the cameras in the two entry-level iPhone 13 models will be improved, which means, among other things, that the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 13 will gain the cameras of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Analyst Ming Chi Kuo has made some more predictions in April 2021 about the 2022 iPhone camera, which he says
will offer 8K video and 48 megapixels.
