When Apple launched Apple TV+ back in November 2019 it offered any one buying a new Apple product (on which you could watch Apple TV+) a free one-year subscription to Apple TV+. The service, which includes a number of original TV shows and movies, normally costs £4.99/$4.99 a month.
As we reach November 2020 many of those initial free subscriptions will be ending. We imagine that Apple had intended for there to be lots of content available to entice people to update their subscriptions, but due to Coronavirus production schedules for many of the bigger shows, like The Morning Show and See, have been delayed. It may be as a result of this, or other issues with the service may be at play, but Apple has decided to add on another three months to these free trials.
This means that if you started your free year’s subscription back on 1 November 2019 rather than running out on 1 November 2020, it will now run until 1 February 2021.
Those three extra months will be added regardless of when you started your subscription. So if you started the free subscription on 1 May 2020, it will now run until 1 August 2021. Similarly, if you subscribe on 1 November 2020 it will run until 1 February 2022.
UPDATE JANUARY 2021: Apple has now extended the free trial by another six months to July 2021.

If you aren’t buying a new Apple product that qualifies for the free trial you can get a free 7-day trial. Plus many first episodes of shows are free to watch, so you could see if there is anything you like without having to pay anything.
