Features in various hardware products and OS updates have made it clear for some time that Apple is fascinated by AR (augmented reality). Most pundits agree that the company is planning on making a set of AR glasses devoted entirely to the technology, and it’s believed that this product exists under a working title of Apple Glass.
We’ve heard numerous theories about Apple Glass this year, but a new rumour has just emerged related to a new feature. It may be able to compare two products that the wearer holds in front of its lenses, reports AppleInsider, after Apple recently published a patent application called Product Comparison Techniques.
For example, the glasses could compare whether a large package of a product is really cheaper per kilo than a smaller package.
The glasses could also help shoppers by obtaining information that’s not directly available on the shelf or packaging – such as the differences between iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, to name an example.
