Apple’s Find My app experienced serious technical problems on Saturday. This was confirmed by Apple’s own system status page, reports 9to5Mac, and has since been fixed.
The service – which can be used to locate a lost iPhone, iPad or Mac, or any miscellaneous device with an AirTag attached – was reportedly partially or fully down for multiple users on Saturday. They encountered the message “Unable to connect to server. Please try again later.”
Apple’s own description reads: “Some users were affected. Users may have been unable to use this service.” It labels the problem as having lasted from 8.30pm to 10.15pm on Saturday.
Service has since been restored, and the extent of the problem while it lasted is as yet unclear.
The problem with the Find My app occurred shortly after Apple also experienced technical problems with Apple Card on Friday: several users were unable to use their payment cards properly. Since then, that problem has also been fixed.
