You can buy an 27in iMac right now, but if you want the nano glass option (which costs an additional £300/$300) you will have to wait until 29 March to 4 April in the UK (9 weeks), or 7-8 weeks in the US.
Our colleagues at
Macwelt in Germany have noticed the same delays.
This looks suspicious to anyone looking for evidence that Apple will soon update the 27in iMac.
While it’s possible to buy the standard configurations, adding any build-to-order options other than the nano glass increases the delivery estimation to two to three weeks in the US, or about five weeks in the UK.
While the reason could relate to shipping delays and shortages of particular parts, it may well indicate that the new iMac will launch in this time frame. Indeed it is expected the the new 27in iMac – thought to be rebadged as iMac Pro – will be here in April, or at least in the first half of 2022. Read about the
new iMac for 2022.
With these delays and the imminent release of a new iMac our advice would be that ordering an 27in iMac from Apple at this time is not advisable. Read:
